I just Received my Casio watch, love it!! 5 Stars so far, I download the instruction booklet its way larger font than the book. I set all the functions, The Altimeter works with in 20 feet, want to New Hampshire White Mountains and gave me almost exact reading, still figuring that function out. The minute timer comes in handy, nice feature. The watch was very easy to set up. Its very lightweight on my wrist. I like the fact that I don’t need my glasses to read the analog or even the digital screen, the screen is clear. Both lights come on when you turn your wrist. The resin band is very comfortable so far, I had to loop though another rubber loop on the band to catch the strap.

Update 03.06.2018:The pin got back in the right location by it self sounds like there is kinda relocating system. This review was 3 stars. Am giving now 5 STARS.Thank you Casio just make it cheaper.Below is my old review:This is my daily hand watch since 8 months and I never take it off even while sleeping so basically 24/7 in my hand.Pro:1. Good build quality watch and strong wristband.2. Light weight, comfortable & Slim (Comparing to almost all G-shock & Pro Trek).3. Solar powered which I will never think about run out of battery.4. Same features as «G-SHOCK MUDMASTER GWG-1000» in a waaay cheaper price (of course not same specs).5. Looks good and plain which I can wear the watch at every time with almost anything I wear cloths and looks cool.Cons:1. It gets scratch very fast on the metal frame (I went outdoor 3 times only and most of the time in the office or at home).2. The Pins got off center (Look at the photo). Even though it works perfectly and it does rotate but am worried it might fall soon. And going back for a service is not an option for me. This problem made me a stop to PRO TREK and switch to G-Shock (my next watch will be a G-Shock).3. The glass is not protected by the frame and it can get scratched.*I would recommend this to you if you need all the features but I discovered that am only using the watch for the time and compass. Other than that am using my phone for all features such as (COMP, BARO, TEMP, ALTI, REC, ST, TR, AL, & WT).For me the only thing is worth it is the watch and solar and am ready to go.*If you dont care about the features then get some cheaper G-Shock.*If you want the most features then there are much better with really high price. The PRG-600Y is the best balace between features, look, & price.

This is an absolutely awesome watch except for one thing. When you light up the face, pressing any other button on the watch immediately turns off the LEDs that light the face. This renders the watch very hard to use in the dark. The illumination itself lights the dial and LCD panel nicely, but if you want to use, say, the compass, pressing that button turns off the illumination. What pressing a second button SHOULD do when the face is illuminated is EXTEND the illumination time, not end it. I love my Casio watches, but this kill-the-light feature is very irritating in the dark, and seems to be a built-in problem on all my high-end Casio watches. I would love to see Casio fix this, so the illumination time is extended (like Casio’s competitors do) instead of defeated on subsequent button pushes.

Do not buy this watch for the functions, but get it for the looks! If you’ve researched this watch you can stop reading after the first few sentences. This is one of the few items that look better in person than in the photos. I have a small wrist and was concerned about he size, but it wears well and you can easily use with a long sleeve shirt. The reverse lcd display easily reads in the daylight, not so much inside. The black bezel makes the cities difficult to read in low light and note that this model does not have atomic time. Again it’s all about the looks and quality build, well worth the money if you can catch it on sale.As for the functions, read the manual before you purchase, and if you can live with the limitations it’s still about the looks. The compass is functional, but works best if you take it off you wrist and sit it on a level surface, a smart phone compass works much better. The altimeter works off of the barometric air pressure, my experience is that it is accurate within 50ft. Again a smart phone with GPS works much better. The Barometer is somewhat accurate, but the graph is difficult to read and needs to be calibrated for the area you are in. The sudden drop in pressure does alarm, but here again my smartphone weather app does a much better job of warning severe weather is approaching. The temperature is a joke, enough has been written in other reviews, get rid of this function and add atomic time capability. The luminous numbers are another fail. I had a watch as a kid that would last a few minutes if you exposed it to bright light, this is no different and possibly worse. The led light works, about all I can say as it’s just a bright glow at the bottom, looks cheap but works. All the other functions work, hard to mess up a stop watch function.I work construction along the Gulf coast, the watch is exposed to salt water and all sorts of hazards. It’s a big watch, expect to bump and catch it on lots of stuff, but it cleans up easily. The controls are easy to operate and somewhat intuitive. The 97 page manual is daunting at first, but half of it is explaining why the functions won’t be very accurate.Again a great looking watch that is light and wears all day easily. I’m looking for a cloth strap as the provided strap is rather hot. It’s a great $200 watch, just know what your getting before the purchase and you won’t be disappointed.

Casio’s ProTrek line has a lot of great outdoor oriented watches in it and this is one of them.Like most, this features ABC (altitude, barometer, compass) functionality (along with the usual array of alarms, timers, chronograph, time zones, temperature etc), a tough quartz movement that’s solar powered, 100m water resistance, mineral crystal, and a resin case and integrated band. This particular model features both analog and digital displays. The analog display is large and very easy to read with a lot of applied markers for visual interest. The hour markers/digits are lumed as ar the hour and minute hands, and the lume is decent for a watch of this price point. The digital display has a dark background with light digits/letters and is one of the most readable of this type I’ve seen. The watch has a dual LED backlight that illuminates both displays well (if unevenly). This particular model does not feature atomic time keeping (as many in this line do) so accuracy is only average. Because it is solar powered, the ABC functions are time and interval limited which means they can not be continuously used (same for backlight functionality). The watch uses a proprietary strap which is not easily replaceable and limits mose people to that strap for the life of the watch. Like most watches in this line, it’s very large (at 52mm) so not well suited for those with small wrists or that prefer something inconspicuous. And the backlight is pretty uneven (something CASIO has corrected in its much more expensive JDM models).Overall this is a great ABC watch that’s reliable, durable, lightweight, attractive, and offers a lot of functionality for the price.

I haven’t owned a Casio in decades and if you had asked me whether I would own one, I’d probably say no. My opinion about Casio has done a full 180. I saw a review from the Nutnfancy Project about this watch and those similar to it and that made me rethink the Casio brand.I needed a watch that would meet these requirements: The watch needed to be tough and take abuse, it had to be waterproof enough to swim in, need an alarm and chrono, and above all the dial needs to be readable during the day and night. A bonus requirement is it had to be good looking enough to wear in casual environments. Not only did this watch meet all these criteria, it exceed it with a compass, temperature gauge, barometer, and altimeter, all of which is great for hiking. It has a world time mode for different time zones which is great for my frequent traveling. The watch is attractive, comfortable, and versatile. There is some cool factor with this watch too because it does so much and looks so good. If you are looking for something better than a $20 watch but not something as nice as a $3,000 and above watch, then you won’t be disappointed. I consider myself a fan of Casio now.

I’ve had this watch for a few months now and love it as much now as the first day I got it. I bought a Pro Trek watch about 12 years ago and it was a huge eyesore of a watch but it was very functional and great for long motorcycle trips.Over the years, I stopped wearing it as much but I was always amazed when I would pull it out of a drawer after a year or so and it still had a full charge!I had been wearing a smartwatch for the last year or so and wanted to go back to a traditional analog watch but realized there were certain functions I still needed. I decided to see what Casio offered currently and was pleased to see this new Pro Trek was just as functional as my old one but much more attractive and slim.A word of advice, these watches are not intuitive to use even if you are tech savvy. Without the owner’s manual, you would not be able to figure out at least half of the functions. Their choice of button functions for each menu group is random at best. Sometimes you’re pressing the Compass and Altimeter buttons for added functions, otherwise times your pushing in the crown, and other times you have to pull out on the crown. It is strange at first, but once you get used to it, you will love it for how smooth it all actually works. I have a case full of watches, and this is now the only one I wear! One last note, I thought the night light was very poorly designed at first, especially considering my old Pro Trek from over a decade ago had an idiglo type light that illuminated the entire screen and this watch only has some strange two-stage light at the bottom. But don’t worry, it does get the job done and I’ve always been able to read whatever it is that I’ve needed to see. I’ve even used it to help change a diaper in the middle of the night to keep my daughter from getting too disturbed by turning on a room light!

Watch arrived on December 10th. Two weeks ago the battery went into «Charge» mode. I left it in the sun for almost 9 days before it started working. Put it on after resetting all functions on the watch. Same day the watch is dead as a doornail. Won’t charge at all. I went to a dealer and was told the watch probably has a bad sensor panel. Around 300.00 to repair? I didn’t pay that for the watch. Once I informed him how old the watch was he said «contact Casio, the will send you a new one at no charge if you have only had it 3 months». So we will see. REALLY liked the watch for 2 months…. LOL!Got the watch back from the repair center, worked for two weeks and is totally dead again! They claimed the replaces the sensor,,,, GRRR

Gracias casio

I have been investigating for a while several Casio Pro Trek watches PRW-6000Y, PRW-6100FC and PRG-600YB.I decided to go with PRG-600YB because is good compromised between price and features. The watch is fairly big on the wrist with a very sporty look. The wristband is very comfortable. There are plenty of features: thermometer which takes the temperature on your wrist clearly higher than the ambient temperature but lower than your body temperature. The barometer with graph excellent for weather trending. The compass which seems a little sensible to the watch plate inclination and the altimeter.A lot of standard watch features, chronograph, count down, 5 independent alarms with sound loud enough to wake me up and I am an heavy sleeper, world time, calendar, time zone setting. The led is bright enough to illuminate the LCD display in the dark. The watch hands are florescent and quite visible in any condition. The other two features that tipped the scale for me are waterproof up to 100MT, built-in solar battery charger.I also considered a smartwatch but I did not want to be trapped with a watch that needs to be recharged daily.
